Contact Information

CompanionLink will move your GoldMine contact information to the built-in Address Book application on the BlackBerry handheld. You can edit the information, and add new contacts, and that information will be synchronized back to your GoldMine database.

The synchronized information includes:

• Name, Company, Address, City, State, Zip and Country.
• Four "Custom Fields" of your choice.
• Notes or history.

With CompanionLink, you can specify the number of contact notes to attach to the contact information (max. 25 per contact), to be visible in the BlackBerry Address Book application.

Adding a New Contact Note

To add a new note via the BlackBerry, add it to the Bottom of the existing notes (your cursor will be placed there by default). When synchronizing, CompanionLink will date and time stamp your new note and move it to the top of the list. CompanionLink is the only conduit that supports two-way synchronization of notes and enables you to see notes or history on your BlackBerry.

Calendar Information

GoldMine Appointments, Calls, Next Actions and Events are synchronized with the built in Calendar application on the BlackBerry. You can make changes, complete and/or create new appointments on the BlackBerry and those items will be synchronized with your GoldMine calendar.

The calendar information that is synchronized includes:

• Appointment Date, Time and duration.
• Appointment Description.
• Alarm status and time. If you set the alarm to ring in GoldMine, it will also ring on the BlackBerry organizer.
• Contact link information. This information will be attached to the appointment description in the following form:

To-Do Items

GoldMine To-Do Items are synchronized with the built in Task application on the BlackBerry. You can make changes, complete and/or create new to-do items on the BlackBerry and those items will be synchronized with your GoldMine To-Do list.

The To-Do information that is synchronized includes:

• To-Do Description.
• To-Do Due date.
• A To-Do Priority. GoldMine priority "High" is marked as "High" on the BlackBerry, "Medium" is "Medium" and "Low" is "Low."
• Contact link information. This information will be attached to the to-do description in the following form:

You can see that the BlackBerry automatically adds the name (and phone number) you selected. You may delete the phone number, but the word link must appear at the beginning of the second line. When you synchronize with CompanionLink, the Task will be added to the GoldMine To-Do list with "Follow up phone call" in the "regarding" field. The item will be linked to the specified contact record. CompanionLink is the only BlackBerry Conduit that supports linked contacts for appointments and To-Do Items.
