What Is Scan2Gold?

Scan2Gold is a 100% TWAIN compatible-scanning tool that allows you to attach scanned documents right to a client within GoldMine’s Link tab. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can have an invoice, bill, or any other important document right at your fingertips. The great thing about Scan2Gold is that it is compatible with GoldMine 4 and 5 and also supports Network setups as well as stand-alone setups!

Scan2Gold actually is two products in one. There is the Scan2Gold scanner that is accessible off of GoldMine's Tool menu, and the viewer which automatically appears when you double click on the Scan2Gold file under the Links tab.

Below are some features for both products that might help you in understanding the functionality of Scan2Gold and the QuickViewer that comes with it.

Scan2Gold Scanning Component

100% TWAIN Compatibility -- Any scanner that uses a TWAIN interface, Scan2Gold will work with it.

Scan multi-page documents -- This will allow you to scan pages and pages within one Scan2Gold image.

Instant simultaneous access -- This allows any user within your GoldMine network to instantly and simultaneously view Scan2Gold documents.

Document management conventions -- This tool categorizes the documents by subject so you can quickly and efficiently create search query's on Scan2Gold documents.

Link Management -- This feature allows you to choose if you want the scan to be added in the History, or if you have GoldSync you can choose for the scan to be synchronized or not.

Rescan option -- If you don't like your first attempted scan, you can instantly rescan the same image.

Selecting multiple scanners -- You may select multiple scanners to scan within the same image for quality perfection.

Scan2Gold QuickViewer

That's right! Scan2Gold has a specially designed Scan2Gold QuickViewer for quick and easy access to each linked scan within GoldMine. The QuickViewer allows you to quickly scroll through large scans, size them down, create a Pan Window for quick searching, rotate 90 degrees, and even export the Scan2Gold image to a format so that you can relocate the file on a disk, in an e-mail, or just store it away somewhere different.

Enhanced Printing -- Allows you to print out the scanned image in a format you desire

Multi-page scroll -- Allows you to scroll and GoTo any page within the multi-page scan.

Zoom-in and Zoom-out capabilities -- Select an area and zoom-in and/or zoom-out of the image Pan window allows you to view a thumbnail image on the size while zooming into a different section simultaneously.

Make-fit -- This feature allows you to make the image fit to any window size you specify proportionally.

Stretch-image -- This feature allows you to make the image fit to any window size you specify un-proportionally

Rotation 90 degrees -- Allows you to rotate the scan image 90 degrees at a time and allows you to save it.

Properties Dialog -- Displays byte size, compression, date created, last used by, and bitmap size in pixels.
